Description
The Shimano Grappler Type SJ is a rod specializing in for Slow Jigging, that needs no introduction, as it is the most comprehensive saltwater rod series Shimano has ever produced. It is simply great for Slow Jigging in waters starting at 60m, or deeper.
Imagine a jig dancing through the water column, in a rhythmic pattern. Then feeling a hard strike and coming close to the fish of a lifetime. This is a feeling you can experience with the Shimano Grappler BB Type Slow J rod series. It is being produced by Shimano, in various lengths and Casting Weights, to make sure there is one Grappler Slow Jig rod, that will match the requirements of any fisherman. This is truly a global rod, catering to the whole world.
The Grappler Slow J Jigging rod has a more parabolic curve, than most conventional jigging rods, giving the angler greater control over the motion of the jig. Shimano developed the Grappler Slow J to fish with thin braid and leader, to ensure there is a fluid connection between your rod movements and the jig.
Utilizing Shimanos highest performing rod blank technologies, such as Spiral X and Hi-Power X in the same rod, the Grappler Slow Jigging blank is 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. Hi-Power X is a carbon fiber tape which is wrapped around the outside of the blank in a spiral construction. This makes the rod stronger, stiffer and removes twist completely. With high cost performance, the Hi-Power X blanks eliminate any discomfort, resulting from high twisting loads. This is crucial in off shore games, as both power and response is improved, even when applying aggressive jigging styles or fighting larger species.
Fuji’s T-DPS20 is used for the reel seat which provides a wide surface area for the rod to lay flat in the hands of anglers. Even with heavy jigs, jerking has been made possible with the use of this rod.
Featuring ultra-parabolic blanks, the Shimano Grappler Slow Jigging rods have been designed for the angler looking to refine his jigging technique. Whether its speed and power for jigging, or versatility in in-shore games, or the charming slow jigging which uses slow and fall actions, there is without a doubt a model for you in the Grappler BB lineup.
