The Ryobi Smap X is a Baitcasting, Star Drag reel, for vertical fishing techniques, as these are practiced in the Mediterranean. They are equipped with a Magnetic Drag Force System, that allows the angler to control the descending speed of a jig, or to control the casting of small lures.
The body is made of carbon material that reduces the weight, while increasing the overall strength of the reel, giving you confidence when fighting big fish.
The technological advancement of the Ryobi Smap X lays in the use of the Hamai Gear, for the transmission mechanism. This is a mechanically designed Japanese gear, which optimizes the teeth surface, to generate a silky smooth transmission performance, even after extensive use of the gear. The Hamai Gear, greatly improves the performance of the reel.
The smooth operation of this baitcasting reel is being supported by 8+1 stainless steel, corrosion resistant Ball Bearings, that make your hand feel at ease.
As you spin the handle the Level Wind is also moving on its axis, ensuring that the braid is distributed in an even manner. The levelwind incorporates a titanium plated ring to improve wear resistance, dissipate heat more efficiently and make the exit of the braid faster and smoother.
The handles are comfortable to the touch, lightweight and wear resistant.
