Opinel has found its way under the Mediterranean sun and designed a pocket knife inspired by the most characteristic tree.
Opinel knives are the ideal pocket knives for picnic, BBQ, trekking, hunting and fishing… The unique olive wood grain gives the Savoyard knife a Mediterranean feel. A classic for those who love this characterful wood. This hard wood has a yellow to orange appearance and has a dense and often tortuous veining. Soft to the touch it has a nice polish.

Cleaning
With your Opinel open, run warm water on the blade and wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse the blade with warm water while taking care not to soak the wooden handle. Leave the blade to dry before closing .
Important: Do not immerse your knife in water as this could warp the wooden handle.
Vibroloc
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open , it is now possible to lock the blade closed
Stainless Steel
Opinel uses Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
