Description
The Raptus Heavy Popping rod series, was 3 years in the making by Oceans Legacy. After testing multiple blanks, with variation on guide placements, Oceans Legacy released a Casting rod that will pop a lure unlike any other rod and provide unrivalled power.
The Raptus Offshore series has been built with the ideology of landing the biggest GT and the biggest of Yellowfin Tuna in the roughest seas. It is a purpose built Popping rod series. Oceans Legacy ensured that the custom made blanks were reinforced with 2x multi Cross Core Carbon and multi blend Japanese Toray graphite, to provide maximum lure action, yet having torque when required to stop any fish.
The Raptus rods have stiffness all the way to the tip section, helping the angler cast and handle large cup faced poppers through the water, with ease. The strong stiff blank also helps with setting hooks and turning fish when running for cover.
The Raptus series features the highest quality Japanese componentry from Fuji. It employs Fuji DPS reel seat and custom locking nut, designed for Oceans Legacy, as well as Fuji KW stainless steel, double foot guides, with SIC rings, to provide the best heat dispersion and durability.
The Oceans Legacy Raptus Offshore Popping rods have been extensively tested at Cocos Keeling Islands, Montebello Islands, Cook Island and also abroad in Fiji and Oman.
